Ian Gibbs, DMD, is double board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery (ABOMS) and dental anesthesiology (NDBA). He is an associate professor and director of resident lecture series at Yale-New Haven Hospital oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
Dr. Gibbs earned his dental degree from the Temple University (Kornberg) Dental School and then completed a post-doctoral
Graduate Practice Residency Program at the University of Southern California, and an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at Howard University Hospital.
Dr. Gibbs is disciplined in all branches of oral and maxillofacial surgery and is focused on maximizing best patient outcomes for his adult, pediatric and special needs patients. He has a surgical emphasis on pathology, trauma, and orthognathic surgery, as well as wisdom teeth extractions, biopsies, dental implants and sedation for anxious patients.
He is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Board of Anesthesiology, National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, Connecticut Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Virginia Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
