Irelsy A. Rivera Velazquez, DMD, MSD is Board Certified, English and Spanish speaking Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon with interest in dentoalveolar surgery, facial cosmetic procedures, dental implant surgery, and orthognathic surgery.
Dr. Rivera is originally from Puerto Rico where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Integrative Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in 2012. She continued at the University of Puerto Rico where she later earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree in 2016. A year later, she completed a surgical internship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dr. Rivera later went on to earn her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency and Master of Science degree in Dentistry by 2021 at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. During her time there, she was also the recipient of many awards including Magna Cum Laude.
In addition to her current education and experience, Dr. Rivera completed a one-year Facial Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship at FACES Clinic in Mexico. Her professional affiliations include Member of ROAAOMS Women in OMS Mentorship Program, Member of International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Rivera has experience in dentoalveolar surgery including wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, and advanced whole mouth reconstruction/rehabilitation, bone grafting, sinus augmentation, orthognathic surgery, and facial cosmetic surgery.
