Saif Abdulateef, DMD, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with clinical interest in dentoalveolar surgery, facial cosmetic procedures, dental implant surgery, jaw corrective surgery, and surgical and non-surgical management of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders.
I was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. In 2007, I earned my B.D.S. from the University of Baghdad- College of Dentistry and then moved to the U.S in 2008. I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, followed by an oral surgery residency at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. I completed an extensive fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. From 2018 to 2021, I served as a full time faculty at Geisinger Health System teaching residents, working on multiple research projects, working collaboratively with multiple subspecialities, and providing the highest level of patient care. In October of 2021, I relocated to the DMV area and I am currently working on relocating my family here as well. In my free time, I enjoy playing and watching sports like soccer, tennis and swimming. My favorite soccer team is Manchester United and the Atlanta Falcons is my favorite football team. Another hobby of mine is attending live concerts and music festivals.
My professional affiliations are, Member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Member of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Member of Pennsylvania Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
I also currently hold a position as a part time faculty at Geisinger Medical Center, where I still continue to be involved in academic research, mentoring residents, complex surgical cases, and excellent patient care.
