Dr. Guraya was born in India and raised in Ventura California. He attended the University of California at Santa Barbara for under graduate studies. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1995 from the University of Missouri, School of Dentistry. Dr. Guraya completed his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
Dr. Guraya served in the United States army from 2001 to 2010. He was deployed to Iraq in 2003 with the 115th combat support hospital in support of Operation Iraq Freedom. He moved to Lynchburg upon his discharge in 2010 and lived there with his wife Kiran and their beloved ausidoodle Teddy. More recently, Dr. Guraya and his family have moved to Northern Virginia, where he continues to practice and contribute to the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
